Diocese of Embu Caritas Mbeu Programme Holds Mid-Year Evaluation

The Diocese of Embu Caritas Mbeu Programme held its Mid-Year Performance Evaluation, on 15th July 2026 at Cardinal John Njue Pastoral Center, to review progress, celebrate milestones and strategize for the future of community empowerment in Embu.

The strategic session was led by Rt. Rev. Peter Kimani (Bishop, Catholic Diocese of Embu) alongside the Director, Fr. James Murithi, and the dedicated Mbeu staff.

Key Highlights & Achievements Evaluated

During the session, the Mbeu staff presented comprehensive performance reports detailing achievements from the first half of the year. Some of the standout areas of discussion included:

  • Growth of the Mbeu Policy (2026–2030): Evaluating the community’s response to the new individual membership options, junior savings accounts, fixed accounts and tailored financial tools.
  • Empowering Families: Reviewing the impact of our critical micro-credit services such as the school fees loan product which have cushioned families and kept children in school.
  • ASK Embu Show Success: Reflecting on our widely praised exhibition in March, where the Mbeu Programme was recognized with a trophy of recommendation.
  • Community Savings Culture: Tracking the positive trajectory of self-help groups (SHGs) adopting a robust savings culture to drive local, people-led development.

Looking Ahead

With the invaluable guidance of our Bishop and Director, the Mbeu team enters the second half of the year re-energized. They remain committed to walking side-by-side with their members on their journey toward financial independence.
