ACCRI Monitoring Visit and Introduction of New Volunteers at Caritas Embu

Mass and Introduction at the Diocese of Embu
On Monday, 9th February 2026 the monthly Holy Mass was celebrated bringing together all Diocese of Embu Caritas staff and the ACCRI team. During the Mass, new ACCRI volunteers were formally introduced to the wider diocesan Caritas family, affirming the shared mission of service, solidarity and accompaniment of communities.
The ACCRI monitoring team present during the visit was comprised of Claudio Filippi and Gigi Mattiussi who engaged with diocesan staff and Caritas Embu leadership as part of their monitoring and support role.
Also present were Cleria Beccari and Francesca Brandolani, who are beginning their volunteer mission under ACCRI in collaboration with Caritas Embu.

Welcome at Iriamurai Parish
Earlier, on Sunday, 8th February 2026, the two volunteers were warmly received by the Iriamurai Parish community. During the parish celebrations, they were officially introduced to the local faithful and symbolically welcomed through the giving of local names, a meaningful sign of belonging and acceptance within the community.
- Cleria Beccari received the local name Nkatha (Cleria Nkatha)
- Francesca Brandolani received the local name Gakii (Francesca Gakii)
The joyful occasion reflected the strong spirit of hospitality and cultural exchange that continues to characterize the partnership between local communities and volunteers.
Transition and Continuity of Service
Cleria Gakii and Francesca Ngatha will be taking over volunteer responsibilities from Rosella Mumbi and Bianca Njeri, who have faithfully served under ACCRI and Caritas Embu at Iriamurai Parish and Mutuobare Parish respectively.
Caritas Embu expresses deep gratitude to Rosella and Bianca for their commitment and dedicated service, and warmly welcomes Cleria and Francesca as they begin this new chapter of accompaniment and mission within the Diocese of Embu.
Together, through faith, partnership, and service, Caritas Embu and ACCRI continue to walk alongside communities in hope and solidarity.
