Ivondo Community Meeting and Project Follow-Up
10th February 2026

A community engagement meeting was held on 10th February 2026 at Ivondo, bringing together the ACCRI team, the Caritas Embu team, and local community members.
The meeting focused on the introduction of new ACCRI volunteers to the community and a review of past development interventions implemented jointly by ACCRI and Caritas Embu, notably the Ivondo community borehole project. Community members were taken through the progress achieved and the importance of ownership and sustainability of the project.
Key follow-up discussions centered on registration with social services, a critical step in facilitating the transfer of water permits to the community for effective management of the borehole. The session emphasized accountability, legal compliance and long-term community control of the water resource.

The meeting was attended by approximately 40 community members. During the engagement, the Caritas Mbeu Programme was also introduced to the community members. The programme, which promotes saving and access to loans at favorable terms, was well received. Community members were sensitized on the benefits of developing a strong saving culture, and many expressed willingness to join the programme.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with strong community participation and commitment toward sustaining both development and economic empowerment initiatives.
