Farewell to ACCRI Monitoring Team Members
13th February 2026
Diocese of Embu Caritas and DOE Our Lady of Consolata Iriamurai Parish warmly bid farewell to Claudio Filippi and Gigi Mattiusi as they concluded their monitoring visit and prepared for the return to Italy.

The farewell took place at Our Lady of Consolata Iriamurai Parish and was intentionally short, simple and meaningful. As a sign of appreciation and cultural hospitality, Claudio was gifted a traditional belt, while Gigi received a Maasai shuka. The team was also presented with food items including cowpeas, green grams and mangoes, symbolizing gratitude and community generosity.

The farewell was attended by Rev. Fr. James Murithi, Director of Caritas Embu, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Mbogo, Parish Priest of Iriamurai Parish, both of whom took part in the gifting and send-off.
Claudio and Gigi expressed deep appreciation for the warm reception and collaboration experienced during their visit. While they departed, both new and outgoing ACCRI volunteers remained on the ground, ensuring continuity of programmes and ongoing accompaniment of communities.
